2006 Ford Escape Hybrid 4WD
Vehicle Description:
THE FIRST HYBRID SUV ANYBODY BUILT WAS A FORD, AND THIS IS ONE. Ford beat every other manufacturer to a hybrid sport utility, and this 2006 Escape Hybrid is the 4WD version in green. HOW THE HYBRID SYSTEM WORKS: a 2.3L Atkinson cycle four is paired with a permanent magnet electric motor for 155 combined horsepower, through an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission that has no belts and no torque converter in it. It pulls away from a stop on electricity alone, switches the gasoline engine off every time you stop, and feeds braking energy back into the battery instead of wasting it as heat in the brake pads. The EPA rated this one at 30 in town, and town is exactly where a hybrid does its best work. 4WD UNDERNEATH. Ford did not make you give up the four wheel drive to get the hybrid, which is the whole reason this version is the one worth finding in Oregon. ENGINE AND DRIVE: 2.3L four cylinder with electric assist, automatic, 4WD. SAFETY: ABS brakes, four wheel disc brakes, driver and passenger airbags and vehicle anti-theft. COLOR AND MILES: green, 128,361 miles. CARFAX AND TITLE: CARFAX reports the title guaranteed clear of salvage, junk, rebuilt, fire, flood, hail and lemon brands, no total loss reported, no odometer brand, and no open recalls. SERVICE RECORDS: CARFAX lists 24. It has been an Oregon vehicle its whole life and was looked after in Portland right through to us, with oil service at 107,824, 112,510, 117,296, 120,993 and 126,350 miles, a Valvoline visit at 127,124 in February 2026, and a passed Oregon emissions inspection in 2023.
